How can hypnotherapy help me?

hammockThe subconscious mind is the repository of all your behaviours, beliefs and attitudes, which determines how you cope in different situations. Hypnotherapy provides a unique approach because hypnosis enables communication with the subconscious and creates change in the part of the mind that matters.

A solution focused approach is used to help you determine your aims and objectives. I am a firm believer in recognising that you have all the resources you need to overcome your problems. Strengthening these resources along with a solution focused approach provides a powerful method to help you overcome your issues.

By entering into a relaxing trance state, carefully constructed suggestions are given to enable the subconscious to perceive things in a desired way. The way you would like things to be.

What happens on your first visit?

We  offer a free 45 minute consultation with a view to beginning therapy.

The object of this meeting is to discuss your current situation and what you would like to achieve. This also provides a great opportunity for me to dispel any myths and strengthen facts about hypnosis and what to expect from hypnotherapy.

Conditions Treated by hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is very effective in helping with a whole array of emotional problems including, amongst many others:

  • Anxiety and Stress
  • Blushing
  • Confidence
  • Exam Nerves
  • Fear of Flying
  • IBS
  • Insomnia
  • Panic Attacks
  • Phobias
  • Public Speaking
  • Stopping Smoking
  • Weight Management

What is it like to be hypnotised?

There is no particular ‘hypnotic’ feeling and each person’s experience can be different. Typically you will experience pleasant feelings of relaxation which may include feelings of heaviness or lightness as your mind and body relax.

We enter in and out of trance states every day just as when you’re daydreaming, reading a book or driving long distances. It’s not possible to get ‘stuck’ in hypnosis. It’s a very natural and completely safe process with plenty of good results and no side effects.
